Prosecutor’s Office Has Brought New Charges against the Former High-Ranking Officials Charged with the Dispersal of the Demonstration on November 7 and Intrusion into IMEDI TV

Charges under the criminal case (IMEDI TV, Mtatsminda Amusement Park, Rustavi Metallurgical Plant, Developments of November 7, 2007) being investigated by the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of Georgia, which were filed against the former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, have been clarified by the Decision dated March 13, 2015, according whereof M. Saakashvili exceeded his official powers by using violence and affronting human dignity of a victim, which caused substantial damage to the rights of individuals and legal entities, legitimate public and state interests as envisaged by Article 333 §2 and §3(b) and (c)  of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which entails the deprivation of liberty from 5 to 8 years as the type of penalty.
Under the same criminal case, charges filed against Davit Kezerashvili, Zurab Adeishvili and Giorgi Ugulava have been aggravated, and charges against Ivane Merabishvili have been clarified without the aggravation of his guilt, in particular:
According to the Decision rendered against Davit Kezerashvili, the factual circumstances of his charges were clarified, and the classification of the offense was also changed to Article 333 §2 (exceeding official powers – episodes of November 7, 2007, IMEDI TV and Rustavi Metallurgical Plant), Article 194 §3(b) and (c) (legalization of illegal proceeds – the IMEDI TV episode) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which entails the deprivation of liberty for a term from 9 to 12 years as the type of penalty.
According to the Decision rendered against Zurab Adeishvili, the factual circumstances of his charges were clarified, and the classification of the offense was also changed to Article 333 §3(b) and (c) (exceeding official powers – IMEDI TV episode, episode of November 7, 2007) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which entails the deprivation of liberty for a term from 5 to 8 years as the type of penalty.
According to the Decision rendered against Giorgi Ugulava, the factual circumstances of his charges were clarified, and the classification of the offense was also changed to Article 333 §1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (exceeding official powers –  Mtatsminda Amusement Park episode), Article 25, 182 §2 (a) and  §3 (b) of the Criminal Code of Georgia (assistance in embezzlement – the episode of embezzlement of the property of Mtatsminda Amusement Park) and  Article 25, 194 §3 (b) and (c) of the Criminal Code of Georgia (assistance in the legalization of illegal proceeds - IMEDI TV episode) which entails the deprivation of liberty for a term from 9 to 12 years as the type of penalty.
According to the Decision rendered against Ivane Merabishvili, the factual circumstances of his charges were clarified, and the classification of the offense remained unchanged - Article 333 §3(b) and (c) (IMEDI TV episode, the episode of November 7, 2007 and the episode of the intrusion into Mtatsminda Amusement Park) of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which entails the deprivation of liberty for a term from 5 to 8 years as the type of penalty.
