Tbilisi City Court fully accepted the evidence submitted by the prosecution and the defendant T.M. accused of violating traffic safety rules that caused severe health damage of a human and death of 2 individuals was found guilty.
The evidence submitted in the court confirmed that on May 25, 2018, on the left embankment of the Mtkvari river, Ushangi Chkheidze St. T.M. when operating a car violated traffic safety rules given under the Article 33§1 of the Georgian Law on Traffic and without any objective obstructive conditions, moved on the opposite side of the road and crashed into the car operated by G.Ch.
As a result of a car accident, G.Ch. due to severe injuries died at the car accident site and his passenger T.K., died later in hospital. As for Z.M., T.M.’s one more passenger, he suffered severe injuries.
Law enforcers detained T.M. on September 10, 2018. He was charged with the Article 276§3 and 276§7 (violating traffic safety rules, that caused severe health damage of a human and death of 2 individuals) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. He was sentenced to imprisonment as a measure of constraint.
Tbilisi City Court found T.M guilty in the presented charge and he was sentenced to 9 years in prison. Furthermore, he was deprived of his right to operate any vehicle for 2 years.
