Preparatory Course regarding to imitated jury trial has been started for pupils at Regional Prosecutor`s Office of Western Georgia that will last for several days. Within the frameworks of meetings, pupils will get acquainted with activities of Prosecutor`s Office and particularity of the Jury System.
The project is implementing in collaboration with LEPL Center for Crime Prevention under the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. The aim of this project is to raise awareness and to esablish healthy attitude towards law-and-order among young people.
Regional Prosecutor of Western Georgia Shota Tkeshelashvili and local prosecutors have met the pupils. Within the frameworks of ongoing seminars, participants will get acquainted with the institution of jury, the particularities of trials and the role of prosecution. Introductory and final words as well as direct and cross interrogation will be discussed in details. Training contains theoretical and practical parts.
Imitated trial will be held at the final stage of the project. The jury will reveal a winner team and the best individual participant. 18 pupils selected by the Center for Criminal Prevention has been participating in this project.
One of the main priorities of the Prosecutor`s Office of Georgia is promotion of development of young people. Similar targeted events will be held in future as well.
