Defendant Charged with Trafficking Drugs in Large Volumes Sentenced to Imprisonment for 7 and 8 Years, based on the Evidence Produced by the Prosecutor’s Office

Tbilisi City Court completely upheld the evidence produced by the prosecution and found T.Ch. and G.M. guilty of trafficking drugs in large volumes. 
Evidence investigated during the trial conformed that T.Ch. illegally purchased pills containing large amounts of narcotic substance MDMA, a part of which they sold to a citizen at the entrance of nightclub ‘Basiani’ in Tbilisi, on April 28, 2018, while sold the rest to the same citizen in Dighomi, Tbilisi, also illegally.
Law enforcement authorities arrested T.Ch. in Tbilisi on May 12, 2018. They were charged under Article 260§3(a) of the Criminal Code of Georgia and under Article 260§5(a) of the same Code on two counts (illegal purchase, storage and selling of drugs in large quantities) and was sentenced to detention as a measure of constraint. Tbilisi City Court found defendant T.Ch. guilty as charged and sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 7 years as a measure and extent of penalty. 
As for the case of convict G.M.’s prosecution, evidence investigated during the trial confirmed that they sold illegally purchased pills containing large volumes of narcotic substance MDMA to a citizen in nightclub ‘Mtkvarze’ in Tbilisi, on May 5, 2018. Authorities arrested G.M. on May 12. They were charged under Article 260§3(a),§5(a) (illegal purchase, storage and selling of drugs in large quantities) of the Criminal Code of Georgia and was sentenced to detention as a measure of constraint. 
Tbilisi City Court found G.M. guilty as charged sentenced him to imprisonment for a term of 8 years as a measure and extent of penalty.
