Prosecutor’s Office Launches Investigation into Allegations of Electoral Fraud

Investigation has been launched into alleged facts of commission members signing of ballots and placing them into ballot boxes at certain precincts during the second round of presidential elections. 

United National Movement filed an application regarding violations at precincts with the Office of the Prosecutor General on December 24.

Having studied the circumstances stated in the application, the Office of the Prosecutor General launched investigation in the offenses with characteristics under 164 and 1643 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies falsification of an electoral document and a document related to elections by a member of an electoral commission, namely intentional falsification of ballots.
