The Court sentenced 4 years imprisonment to the defendant accused of domestic violence, threat, and theft

Tbilisi City Court has fully accepted the evidence, submitted by the prosecution and found guilty defendant T.Ph. accused of domestic violence, threat and theft under the subparagraphs “a”, “b” and “c” of the 2nd paragraph of Article 1261, the subparagraphs “a”, “d” and “j” of the 2nd paragraph of Article 111-126, the 1st paragraph of Article 111-151 and the subparagraphs “a” and “b” of the paragraph 2nd of Article 177 of Criminal Code of Georgia.

According to the evidence submitted to the Court, it was established that from 2014 to 23 November 2017, T.Ph. was systematically verbally and physically insulting his minor child N.Ph. and his former spouse M.A. in the presence of the minors; he was beating them and inflicting injuries. He was also blackmailing, threatening and humiliating them due to these actions they experienced physical pain and moral suffering. On 23 November 2017, approximately at 03:00 o’clock, T.Ph threatened to kill his former spouse with the knife, the victim actually perceived and feared that the threat would be carried out.

At the judicial proceeding, it was determined that T.Ph. committed theft, in November 2017 he covertly appropriated the washing machine in the value of 670 GEL owned by M.O., which caused serious material damage to the victim.    

Law enforcers detained T.Ph. on 12 December 2017, in Tbilisi. The T.Ph. has been charged under the subparagraphs “a”, “b” and “c” of the 2nd paragraph of Article 1261, the subparagraphs “a”, “d” and “j” of the 2nd paragraph of Article 111-126, the 1st paragraph of Article 111-151 and the subparagraphs “a” and “b” of the 2nd paragraph of Article 177 of Criminal Code of Georgia (domestic violence, threat and theft) and sentenced to imprisonment as a preventive measure.

Tbilisi City Court found T.Ph. guilty of accusation and determined the type and the length of the sentence to 4 years of imprisonment.
