A Wanted Person Arrested in Ukraine on the Basis of the Motion of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia

Based on the motion of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, K.K., born on January 28, 1980, wanted by Georgian law enforcement authorities under INTERPOL Red Notice, was arrested in Ukraine on July 4, 2017, with a purpose to extradite him/her to Georgia.
By the Decision of the competent Ukrainian Court dated 06.08.17, detention pending extradition for a term of 40 days was imposed on the wanted person as a measure of constraint. K.K. is wanted by Georgian authorities with a goal to enforce the Judgements of Tbilisi City Court dated January 27 and March 18 of 2014. With the Judgement dated 27.01.2014, he/she was found guilty of having committed crimes defined under Article 143§3(a) and Article 333§1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. He/she was sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term of 6 years as a type and size of penalty.
With the Judgement dated 18.03.2014, he/she was found guilty of having committed crimes defined under Article 138§3(c) (two counts), Article 143§3(a) (2 counts) and Article 1441§2(a, e, g) (2 counts) of the Criminal Code of Georgia. With the same Judgement, K.K. was sentenced to deprivation of liberty for a term of 9 years as a type and size of penalty.
