A Meeting with EU Experts Conducted at The Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia

A meeting with the experts of the EU project ‘EU Action Against Drugs and Organized Crime’ was held at the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.
Representatives of the structural divisions of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia responsible for investigation, prosecution and international cooperation relating drug-related crimes attended the meeting which was opened by Deputy Chief Prosecutor Giorgi Gabitashvili.
Giorgi Gabitashvili informed the EU experts about the activities and accomplished results of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia in the field of fighting against drug-related crime, underlined the importance of the project and thanked the EU party for launching its implementation.
Representative of the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs provided the EU experts with detailed information about the state in the field of fighting against drug-related crime and shared opinions about necessities existent in this field.
The EU party pledged Georgian party that it will consider all identified necessity and will assist competent Georgian authorities within the scope of project capabilities.
European Union’s project ‘EU Action Against Drugs and Organized Crime’ aims to study Georgian legislature, institutional system and practice in the field of fighting against drug-related crime, to identify possible flaws and to assist in increasing effectiveness in fighting against drug-related crime.
